The hashtag #ArrestTriptaTyagi is on a meteoric rise within India due to a viral video surfacing from Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.
Allegedly filmed at Neha Public School in Khubbapur village, the footage portrays a school teacher, identified as Tripta Tyagi, seemingly promoting violence among students.
The video showcases an alarming scene where Tyagi instructs some of her students to target a classmate, believed to be of a different background.
Shared widely on platforms such as Twitter (X), the video has evoked strong reactions from the online community, local residents, and educational bodies.
It shows the teacher, in a green outfit, calling up students one by one to harm the 8-year-old boy.
Both boys and girls walk up to the boy, with some either slapping his back or whacking him across the face.
After each hit, the boy cries and seeks for help, but the teacher sits there and does nothing.
Allegedly, Tripta Tyagi also degrades the boy, calling him names as she watches the violence unravel.
There is another male recording the event and viewers can shockingly hear him giggle as the boy carries on getting slapped.
The footage has faced widespread condemnation, prompting numerous individuals and groups to demand swift action against the teacher and a thorough investigation into the matter.

The father of the victim, Altamash, named Irshad, expressed his anguish, leading him to decide against sending his son back to school.
Irshad noted that the teacher issued an apology in the presence of the police.
The teacher also submitted a written statement to the Muzaffarnagar Police, expressing her desire to avoid filing a complaint against her.
Prominent social activists and community leaders have taken to social media to voice their dismay, underscoring the significance of upholding communal harmony and tolerance within educational settings.
Many people also took to Twitter, now X, to show their dismay. One person said:
“It’s worse than Terrorism, how Humanity will survive when Teachers instead of building civilised society creating monsters?”
Another person tweeted:

Manakdeep Singh Kharaud also expressed on X:

As of now, the school administration has yet to issue an official statement addressing the incident.
