Will There Be Yellowstone Season 6?

In early 2023, Cole Hauser who plays Rip Wheeler told People Magazine that season five is not the last season. Hauser said that season six is already in the makings.

As per Hauser, Sheridan was not at the Yellowstone season 5 premiere in New York City because he is currently busy writing the next season. He claimed that season five will not be the end of the Dutton family’s story.

The fifth season of Yellowstone debuted in November 2023 and ran for eight episodes. The series went on hiatus with plans for returning sometime this summer. However, those plans reportedly went wrong due to Costner’s limited availability.

In February Deadline reported that the show could be ending soon, saying that the series would wrap up and be replaced by a new spin-off show starring Matthew McConaughey. Per the publication, the root of the issue was a disagreement with Yellowstone star Kevin Costner over the series’s shooting schedule, however, Costner’s attorney Marty Singer denied the claims.

“The idea that Kevin was only willing to work one week on the second half of Season 5 of Yellowstone is an absolute lie,” Singer told Puck News. “It’s ridiculous—and anyone suggesting it shouldn’t be believed for one second.” He added, “As everyone who knows anything about Kevin is well aware, he is incredibly passionate about the show and has always gone way above and beyond to ensure its success.”

Despite being a huge success and the latest season gathering record-breaking viewership, the Paramount drama is coming to a close. After months of rumours and speculation, Paramount has announced that Yellowstone is ending with season five.

In May, Paramount finally confirmed that Yellowstone will end with the second half of season five, which is set to premiere in November 2023. However, the story will continue in an untitled sequel that will premiere in December 2023.

The final six episodes of the fifth season will begin airing in November. The channel hasn’t announced if Costner will be a part of them or when filming will begin.
