Yellowjackets is an American thriller drama tv series created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson. A New Jersey high school girls’ soccer team travels to Seattle in 1996 for a national competition. Their plane crashes in the middle of the woods while they are flying over Canada, leaving the team members who survived behind for nineteen months. The series follows their current life in 2021 and their attempts to survive.
The series premiered on Showtime on November 14, 2021. Its story and its performances gained great acclaim. Therefore, the series has been renewed for two more seasons. The second of which is set to premiere in March 2023.

When will Yellowjackets Season 2 premiere?
With fans anticipating Season 2 with bated breath, Showtime decided to spoil them even more. Yellowjackets have been renewed for a third season, ahead of Season 2. The announcement was made in December 2022.
It’s not too far away now that Yellowjackets Season 2’s official release date has been revealed. The show’s Twitter account posted a video revealing the premiere date as March 24, 2023. It means we are only a little over one month away to see the next instalment of the Emmy-Nominated series.
Yellowjackets Season 2 Plot
Yellowjackets’ first season, which aired about a year ago, told the story of a high school soccer team left in the wilderness after a plane disaster. It was divided into two parts: one concerning the team’s attempts to survive on the island and the other about how their lives continued 25 years later.
Moving between 1996 and 2021, the show gradually answers questions posed in the present day that uncover often harsh truths about the main characters. These dilemmas and questions are solved as the episodes continue.
Therefore, the second season will delve further into what truly happened during those tough 19 months and how much it has affected the former high school soccer teammates’ adult lives. Each woman appears burdened by what happened and what they still don’t know about nature’s forces.
The first season finale ended with several open questions, especially, the main question regarding the fate of Lottie (Courtney Eaton). Other questions which are expected to be answered are, who is dead in the pit? What does the symbol mean? What will happen to Shauna’s baby?
Who is in Yellowjackets Season 2 ?
One of the biggest USPs of the show is its great star cast. These stars delivered superb performances. Melanie Lynskey was nominated for a Lead Actress Emmy for her portrayal of Shauna, and Christina Ricci was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Misty. Both of them will be back for the second season alongside fellow survivors Natalie (Juliette Lewis) and Taissa (Tawny Cypress).
The actors who play the teen versions of the adults will be back too, with the likes of Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Sophie Nélisse, and Ella Purnell.
Elijah Wood will be playing Walter in the upcoming Season. Simone Kessell has been cast as Adult Lottie and Lauren Ambrose as Adult Van. Joining the cast of Season 2 are Nuha Jes Izman and Jason Ritter. Kevin Alves who played the teenage Travis has been upgraded to a series regular. According to Variety, Nicole Maines, François Arnaud, and Nia Sondaya join the cast for the second season.
