Amid divorce rumours with Sania Mirza, Shoaib Malik caused a surprise when he announced he had married Sana Javed.

Sharing pictures with his new wife, Shoaib wrote:

“And we created you in pairs.”

News of their wedding divided internet users.

Some felt sorry for Sania Mirza while others believed the marriage was the culmination of an extramarital affair between Shoaib and Sana.

But who is Sana Javed?

Sana was born in Saudi Arabia to Pakistani parents.

After completing her compulsory education, she and her family moved to Lahore, where she graduated from the University of Karachi.

Sana is an actress who made her debut in the 2012 television show Shehr-e-Zaat.

She went on to appear in several TV dramas, gaining recognition in the romantic drama Khaani.

Other notable dramas include Ruswai and Dunk.

In 2019, Sana Javed was nominated for two Lux Style Awards for her titular role in Khaani.

For Ruswai, Sana won a PISA Award and People’s Choice Award.

In her personal life, Sana Javed was married to singer Umair Jaswal.

The actress tied the knot with him in October 2020. It was an intimate Nikkah ceremony held at her home in Karachi.

The couple quickly became one of Pakistan’s most-loved celebrity couples.

However, their happy marriage was short-lived.

They soon began living separately and removed all pictures of each other from their respective Instagram accounts.

Sana and Umair divorced in November 2023.

Sana’s divorce has been a topic of discussion but throughout her career, she has also faced controversy.

In 2022, several Pakistani models detailed their “horrible” experience of working alongside Sana.

It all began when Manal Saleem put up an Instagram Story to complain about an “entitled” celebrity.

While Manal refrained from naming anyone, she gave a thumbs up to speculations about the person in question.

This prompted several other models to accuse Sana of being unprofessional and having a bad attitude when working alongside them.

Sana Javed said the allegations were “lies” and stated she would be taking legal action.

Pakistani actress and writer Yasra Rizvi then spoke out against “unprofessional” and “self-proclaimed” stars.

Netizens speculated she was talking about Sana, however, Yasra clarified that her criticism was not about “one” person nor was it about the “current controversy”.

The FIA eventually closed Sana’s defamation case, concluding that there was no evidence found of a planned smear campaign against the actress.

 

On social media, Sana Javed actively posts on Instagram, sharing pictures of her style looks with her 8.4 million followers.

Although Shoaib Malik and Sana Javed’s marriage was a surprise, rumours that they were dating first began in 2023.

Rumours started brewing when Shoaib posted a picture with Sana on her birthday with the caption:

“Happy Birthday Buddy.”

The pair also featured together on Jeeto Pakistan.
