Urvashi Rautela says Bollywood ‘Failed’ Parveen Babi

Urvashi Rautela claimed Bollywood failed Parveen Babi as she shared a post that suggested that she will star in a biopic based on the late actress.

Parveen was known for her performances in Amar Akbar Anthony, Deewar, Shaan and Namak Halaal among others.

In 2005, she died due to multiple organ failure.

Her personal life was frequently in the public eye and this is something that was pointed out by Urvashi Rautela.

She took to Instagram to share a video on Parveen in Hindi.

It stated that the actress’ professional life was in the news as much as her personal life.

The note also stated that it is a film by Wasim S Khan while Dhiraj Mishra is the writer.

Indicating that she will be in the biopic, Urvashi wrote:

“Bollywood Failed #ParveenBabi but I will make you proud #PB ~ UR Om Namah Shivay. Trust the magic of new beginnings.”

The post received a lot of attention and fans seemed excited about the project.

One said: “First actress ever to come in support of Parveen Babi.”

Another commented: “Thank you for making the movie about Parveen Babi.”

A third wrote: “We can’t contain our excitement to see you grace the big screen as Parveen Babi, bringing her story to life in the most captivating way. It’s bound to be one of your best movies yet!”

Urvashi previously attended the Cannes Film Festival and she claimed her attendance was for the photocall launch of the Parveen Babi biopic.

However, Urvashi did not speak about the upcoming biopic.

Speaking about her appearance at the prestigious festival, a source said:

“So, Urvashi was there all by herself, there was no producer, writer, director… So what is this photocall launch?”

“It shows how much truth is in her claim.

“She has not even revealed the names of the makers. She could have said that she wants to do, or is thinking of doing, but alleging that it is being made without the name of the team is definitely not credible.”

Parveen Babi has been the subject of numerous films.

Mahesh Bhatt, Parveen’s former partner, wrote and directed Arth in 1982, which was supposedly a semi-autobiographical film about his relationship with her.

Woh Lamhe, which starred Kangana Ranaut, was supposedly based on Parveen’s life, her battle with schizophrenia and her relationship with Mahesh Bhatt

On the work front, Urvashi was last seen in the web series Inspector Avinash.
