Scam 2003: The Telgi Story: One of the most popular web series of the Indian OTT space, “Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story”, is getting a follow-up.
Following the grand success of the financial thriller web series Scam 1992 which debuted in 2020, the streaming service SonyLIV is now set to once again surprise the audience. The streaming service is extending the Scam franchise and will soon release another series titled Scam 2003: The Telgi Story. The second instalment in the Scam franchise will soon premiere on Sony LIV and needless to say that fans are super excited. As the premiere date is around the corner, here’s everything you need to know about the second series of the Scam franchise.
Which Scam 2003 is about?
The series is adapted from the Hindi book Reporter ki Diary by journalist and news reporter Sanjay Singh, who broke the story of the scam in 2003. The series tells the story of Abdul Karim Telgi, a counterfeiter who printed fake stamp paper.
Telgi, the mastermind behind one of India’s most ingenious scams spread across multiple states which shook the entire country. It is estimated that the scam value was allegedly around ₹20,000 crores.
Scam 2003 Release Date
On the third anniversary of Sony LIV 20, i.e. on June 18, 2023, the streaming service announced the premiere date for Scam 2003. The announcement came in the form of a small video clip. Scam 2003: The Telgi Story premieres on Sep 2, 2023, exclusively on Soly LIV.

The official trailer is expected to release in the first week of August 2023.
Who stars in Scam 2003?
While the facts about the celebrity cast and other staff members are still being kept under wraps, we discovered that Marathi writer Kiran Yadnyopavit is co-writing the series with reporter Sanjay Singh.
We also know that the veteran theatre actor Gagan Dev Riar will play the lead role in the series. According to IMDb, the second instalment of the Scam franchise stars:
