Salman Khan to replace Karan Johar in ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2’?

It is reported that Salman Khan will host the second season of Bigg Boss OTT, replacing Karan Johar.

Karan hosted the first season in 2021, which was won by Divya Agarwal.

The first season also featured Uorfi Javed, Shamita Shetty, Raqesh Bapat, Zeeshan Khan, Nishant Bhat and Neha Bhasin.

Salman recently hosted Bigg Boss 16, something he has been doing since 2010.

It is now reported that he will replace Karan as the host of Bigg Boss OTT season two.

Another report has suggested that the show will premiere on May 29, 2023, and will run for six weeks on Voot.

Although the list of contestants has not been confirmed, rumours have circulated that Munawar Faruqui will be one of the participants.

The comedian won the first season of Lock Upp.

Munawar was also announced for Khatron Ke Khiladi in 2022, but he had to back out at the last minute owing to a passport issue.

In addition to Munawar, Archana Gautam’s brother Gulshan has reportedly been announced for Bigg Boss OTT season two.

Salman Khan’s Bigg Boss hosting duties have netted him huge salaries but he has previously stated that he does not do the show for money.

In 2017, he said: “I do it for the connect with the regular people. That’s the power of television.”

On the work front, Salman Khan was last seen in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan.

The film also starred Venkatesh Daggubati, Pooja Hegde, Bhumika Chawla, Jagapathi Babu, Raghav Juyal and Jassie Gill.

It also marked the Bollywood debuts of Shehnaaz Gill and Palak Tiwari.

Salman is currently filming Tiger 3 and Shah Rukh Khan has joined the set to film his highly anticipated cameo.

Taking place on Madh Island, there has been a lot of security to prevent any leaks.

A source said: “The two iconic actors are going to do a hugely scaled adrenaline-pumping action sequence in Tiger 3 and Aditya Chopra is going all out to mount this sequence.

“He is shelling out Rs. 35 crore to build a set that can present this sequence in the most glorious way possible.”

Meanwhile, Karan Johar will return to directing with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani.

Starring Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan, the marks Karan’s first directorial since Ghost Stories in 2020.

The film is set to release on July 28, 2023.
