With the most awaited Adipurush finally makes its way to theatres, the focus is now on how will it perform at the box office. The expectations from this Rs 600 Crore visual extravaganza are sky-high. Om Raut’s directional starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan is the most expensive movie in Indian Cinema. A lot is riding on this pan movie. if advance bookings are to be believed then things are looking good. Early reports suggest that Adipurush is off to a huge opening at the box office. Be it in North India or Telugu states, houseful boards are back. Adipurush is set to become the sixth movie to earn Rs 100+ Crore on its opening day. Worldwide opening day collection: Rs 240 Crore
Rajamouli’s Telugu epic period action drama had a whopping opening at the box office. The film which starred Jr. NTR and Ram Charan in titular roles, collected Rs 223 Crore worldwide on its opening day.
Baahubali 2
Worldwide opening day collection: Rs 217 Crore
Another SS Rajamouli film is on the list. The film turned out to be one of the most successful films in Indian cinema reportedly coining a whopping Rs 217 crores on its opening day.
KGF 2
Worldwide opening day collection: Rs 165.1 Crore
Another South Indian film features in the list of top opening day grossers. The Kannada period action film written and directed by Prashanth Neel got off to a thunderous opening in India. It collected Rs 134 Crore in India and Rs 165.1 Crore worldwide on its opening day, thus sealing third place in the list.
Saaho

After the blockbuster success of Baahubali 2, Prabhas became a popular pan-India star. As a result, his next film Saaho got off to a huge opening despite poor reviews and mixed reactions. Saaho made Rs 130 Crore on its opening day worldwide.

Shankar’s sci-fi action drama film, 2.0, starring Rajinikanth, Amy Jackson and Akshay Kumar took a big opening. It collected Rs 117 Crore on its opening day.
So, only five movies have crossed Rs 100 Crore opening to date. Next will be Adipurush. Despite mixed initial reports, the epic Ramayan drama is set to collect around Rs 125 Crore on its opening day.
