Amazon Prime Video bags Ponniyin Selvan 1 OTT rights
Streaming giant Amazon Prime Video has bagged the post-theatrical streaming rights of the movie for a whopping Rs 125 Crore. The platform has acquired the streaming for Tamil as well as dubbed languages, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.

Though there is no official announcement, our sources have confirmed that PS 1 will start streaming on Prime Video in the second week of November. Since Amazon Prime Video has shelled out a whopping amount, the time gap between the theatrical and digital release would not be more than 45 days. The makers will soon announce the OTT release date.

Ponniyin Selvan began as a single film with a 500 crore budget. However, the movie is separated into two halves, and both parts will be released one after another. According to reports, the amount for each part of the movie is around Rs 250 Crore. The second part, PS 2, is expected to release in the Summer of 2023.
