Physical Season 3: The American comedy-drama is coming back with another season in 2023!

Physical is a popular American comedy-drama series created by Annie Weisman. The dark comedy series follows set in 1980s San Diego and follows Sheila, played by Rose Byrne. On the outside, she’s a quiet housewife whose only aim is to support her husband’s career. Inside, she’s dealing with a whole surfeit of inner torments and body issues. Overcoming her fears and fighting her inner demons, finally, she finds a new sense of identity in the world of aerobics.
So far, the show has had two seasons released, the first of which debuted on Apple TV+ on June 18, 2021, and the second debuted on the same platform on June 3, 2022. In Aug 2022, Physical was renewed for a third season.
“The feedback we’ve received from audiences who continue to discover and feel seen by ‘Physical’ is the most deeply gratifying experience of my career, and I’m so grateful to our team at Apple and Tomorrow Studios for making this dream a reality,” creator Annie Weisman announced in a statement (via Variety).

When is the Physical season 3 release date?
The ” Physical ” series schedule has remained the same since its premiere in 2021. The aerobics-themed television show’s first season premiered in June of that year, and almost exactly one year later, the second season premiered on Apple TV+.
Just like the second season, the renewal was announced in August. So, fans can anticipate the new season to debut next year even if an official release date has not yet been set. Our best bet for the premiere date for the third season would be June 2023.
What will be the plot of Physical Season 3?
The show offers a fascinating plotline about a married woman attempting to regain her confidence and going on a path of self-discovery. Sheila Rubin, who portrays a housewife, battles with personal tragedies, but then she decides to join an aerobics class, and her life dramatically changes.
Season 2 has Sheila successfully launching her first fitness video. Fame comes with new and bigger obstructions for her. She is split between loyalty to her husband (Rory Scovel) and the values she represents. She also faces a dangerous attraction to someone else.
Throughout the first two seasons, Sheila battles her inner torments and builds her aerobics empire. The plot of the upcoming season will continue where the second season ends.
Sheila will continue to recover from disordered eating. As Annie Weisman told Decider, recovery is never easy. That’s why Sheila stumbles and falls throughout the series.
Talking about the next season, Weisman said, “One thing that we’re talking about as we explore the idea of a third season is intimacy,” Weisman explained to Variety. “And not just with friends, but in romantic relationships. It’s the idea of how desire and appetite are connected. As we get the chance to explore the story more, it gets more and more away from just the idea of a relationship to food and more about relationships to desire and connection to the body.”
How many episodes will be there is Season 3?
The first two seasons had 10 episodes each of around half an hour. We are expecting the makers to follow the same pattern when the show returns for a third season.
Who is in the cast?
No point to guess, Rose Byrne will return as Sheila Rubin. Annie Weisman has been quite verbal about, Rose Byrne being the shining light of the series. She is the crux of the show.
“Rose’s breathtaking, hilarious and brave performance is the north star on our show’s journey of personal empowerment and transformation in ’80s Southern California in all its synth-pop, sun-baked, spandex-clad glory,” Weisman stated regarding the show’s renewal (via Apple).
Greta (Dierdre Friel) has also been an important part of the series. With Weisman promising more focus on relationships in the next season, her friendship with Sheila is going to be one of the big plot points.
With Sheila being more honest and open with her husband, Danny (Rory Scovel) will play an important role in the future. Other members expected to return are:

On Rotten Tomatoes, the first season maintains an approval rating of 67% based on 48 critic reviews, with an average rating of 6.49/10. The second season, however, has an approval rating of 91% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 11 critic reviews. The show has a favourable IMDb rating of 7.3/10.
The prose is depressing, sarcastic, and bizarre. The 1980s backdrop accentuates the humour and brings back fond memories for those who grew up in that era. Significant themes include obsession, hallucination, sex, and addiction.
