Pathaan OTT Release: Streaming giant Amazon Prime Video has grabbed the streaming rights of Shah Rukh and Deepika starrer action-thriller Pathaan.

Shah Rukh Khan returns to silver screens after a hiatus of more than four years. His latest action entertainer Pathaan debuted in theatres on Jan 25, 2023. The movie has created havoc at the box office. It becomes the highest-grossing Hindi movie in India by crossing the lifetime numbers of Baahubali 2 (Rs 510.99 Crore).
Before its release in theatres, Pathaan has been mired in controversies over its song Besharam Rang. The saffron colour of Deepika’s bikini in the song has invited controversy. Several religious and political groups have claimed that the female lead wearing a saffron-coloured bikini is hurting Hindu sentiments. Several political groups have called for a boycott.
Despite this boycott trend, SRK’s film got to a flying start and registered the biggest opening of all time. The movie broke almost all records at the box office records. After a record-breaking streak at the box office, fans are now excited about the digital release of Pathaan. So, when will the SRK starrer be on OTT? Here’s what we know.
Amazon Prime Video locked Pathaan’s OTT rights price
It is very well known that Amazon Prime Video has acquired the digital streaming rights of YRF’s upcoming biggies Pathaan and Tiger 3.
The recent report suggests that Amazon Prime Video has locked the OTT deal for Rs a whopping Rs 100+ Crore. Well, seeing the anticipation for Pathaan’s OTT releases, this is a nominal amount.
Pathaan OTT Release Date
Though nothing is official, several reports claim that Pathaan will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on April 25, 2023. It will be available for rent or buy before making its digital debut on Amazon Prime Video.
Amazon Prime Video is home to several YRF blockbusters like Darr, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Silsila, Chandni, Dil To Pagal Hai, Thugs of Hindostan, War and Mardaani. YRF’s recent releases, Bunty Aur Babli 2, Prithviraj, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, and Shamshera are also available to the streamer.
Has controversy helped Pathaan?
Pathaan is made on a whopping budget of Rs 250 Crore. Shah Rukh fans always had huge expectations from the movie and they were expecting a grand comeback from the King of Bollywood.
However, this boycott trend against the movie was a big reason to worry for producers. In the recent past, this Boycott trend has severely affected the box office numbers of several decent movies like Laal Singh Chaddha and Samrat Prithviraj.
