Mohammed Ashiq was named the winner of MasterChef India 8.

The 24-year-old from Mangalore took home the trophy ahead of Nambie Jessica Marak and Rukhsaar Sayeed.

Judge Ranveer Brar congratulated the winner and wrote on Instagram:

“From an inspirational start to a challenging journey, you never stopped daring for more.

“Congratulations on becoming the MasterChef Mohammed Ashiq.”

Another judge, Pooja Dhingra wrote:

“After 6 long weeks, multiple challenges, we finally have our MasterChef for this season today. Congratulations MasterChef Mohammed Ashiq.”

Vikas Khanna said: “And the WINNER is Mohammed Ashiq.

“After not being selected in the last season, he worked harder, kept learning and preparing for the next opportunity. Hats off to you.

“He has our heart and the trophy of MasterChef India. Stay blessed and keep shining.”

Speaking about his win, Mohammed said:

“I am immensely grateful for the whirlwind journey I’ve had on MasterChef India.

“From facing elimination to holding the trophy, every moment was a profound lesson.

“This experience has completely reshaped my life, and winning this esteemed title feels surreal.

“Coming back with stronger determination after narrowly missing out last season was tough, but I devoted myself entirely to the culinary craft.

“This victory isn’t just mine; it’s for every dreamer who defies the odds to chase their aspirations.”

“I owe immense gratitude to the judges – Chef Vikas, Ranveer and Pooja, fellow contestants, the audience, and all the renowned chefs who pushed me to perform better with each passing day in the kitchen.

“I’ve grown significantly and noticed a remarkable shift in my cooking skills, all thanks to an incredible boot camp experience.”

For the final, the three chefs were tasked with creating their signature dish in 90 minutes.

Mohammed cooked a crab dish, which left Vikas emotional.

Ranveer praised the dish and said: “People call me a machine of picking mistakes but in this dish, I cannot point out any mistake, this was all yours, completely your creation.”

In addition to taking home the trophy, Mohammed also won Rs. 25 Lakh.

Mohammed had been a contestant on MasterChef India 7 but was unable to make it into the final 16 spots.

Before appearing on MasterChef India, Mohammed ran his own juice shop, where he showcased his creative flair, crafting unique recipes that delighted customers.

Mohammed found himself in the first elimination round but was able to bounce back and win the cooking show.
