Meera’s Mother speaks about Daughter’s Controversies
Meera recently appeared in an interview in which her mother opened up about the controversies that have surrounded her daughter’s life.
The host Shajia Niazi asked Meera’s mother if she ever felt uncomfortable with any of the controversial outbursts regarding Meera and if she ever felt that they should never have happened.
Meera was deeply interested in what her mother had to say, but she admitted that she had never been phased by all the news stories.
Her mother said: “No never. I firmly believe in the saying ‘there is no such thing as bad publicity’.”
Shajia asked: “But I’m sure some things must have been hurtful, did it not make you think why they didn’t verify or run something by you two before airing it?”

Her mother said: “No, we do not pay heed to such things. We are sitting right here, happily. We don’t talk about things that make us sad.”
During the interview, Meera was asked if reports of her being admitted to a mental health unit in the United States were true.
Denying the claims, Meera said:
“Conflicts are part and parcel of an actor’s life, and there is nothing substantial about the reports concerning me.”
She revealed that she had gone to the hospital for a routine checkup.
Meera continued: “Such news often circulates, and the media is not free from its share of responsibility in this regard.”
Meera’s mother shed light on her daughter’s Bollywood work and revealed that she had been offered many film roles but did not accept them.
She revealed: “After performing in Nazar she also appeared in Kasak.
“She got a lot of offers but we did not go there as it was an unfamiliar land for us.
“It wasn’t easy for her to go and work alone, so we could not go. But she still gets Bollywood offers.”
Meera added that she had been offered a role in Jab Thak Hai Jaan but she declined the offer, something she regretted.
The biggest controversy Meera suffered during her career was when a sex tape of her and her then-husband Captain Naveed Pervaiz was leaked.
The video quickly went viral, resulting in the arrest warrant for both Meera and Naveed.
Meera broke her silence and insisted that the woman in the video was not her. She also claimed she was being framed in an attempt to ruin her career.
However, Naveed said the clip was of them and stated that as a married couple, they could do whatever they wanted.
Naveed said: “We are a couple and those making hue and crying over our sex video should stop propagating against us.”
