Beef Season 2: Release Date, Plot, Cast and More!

Beef Season 2 on NetflixBeef Season 2 on Netflix

The dark comedy series starring Wong and Yeun follows two strangers whose lives congregate during a road rage incident.

Beef debuted on Netflix on April 6, 2023, and follows Ali Wong’s Amy Lau and Steven Yeun’s Danny Cho as they get caught up in a road rage feud, causing their lives and relationships to unravel.

Alongside Wong and Yeun as the lead characters, the 10-episode series stars Joseph Lee, Young Mazino, David Choe, Patti Yasutake, Maria Bello, and Ashley Park. The show received acclaim from critics who praised Yeun and Wong’s performances, as well as the writing and directing.

The Netflix thriller has an incredible 98% score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 94% Audience Score. Audiences are right in believing that there will be more episodes featuring this spiteful duo given the rumours of a second and even third season as well as the claim made by the show’s creator Lee Sung Jin that he originally authored Beef with thoughts for the story’s continuation.

However, because of the season’s excellent storytelling, Beef may be better off left as is. But there is never enough of an Asian Netflix series, so fans are anxiously awaiting season 2 and wondering if it will ever be renewed. If yes, what is it gonna have in store? Here’s everything you need to know!

Will there be Beef Season 2?

It’s just been a month since the first season debuted on Netflix, so there’s still plenty of time for the streaming platform to renew the show in the coming weeks after thoroughly reviewing the show’s performance and ratings.

Although the finale wrapped the story up and there is nothing much left to be explored, the creator Sung Jin certainly has some big ideas if the show gets renewed.

Jin told Rolling Stone: “I wanted it to have a conclusive feel just in case, but there are a lot of ideas on my end to keep this story going.”

“I think should we be blessed with a Season 2, there’s a lot of ways for Danny and Amy to continue. I have one really big general idea that I can’t really say yet, but I have three seasons mapped out in my head currently.”

He also told Elle: “Cards on the table, we did pitch this show as a limited anthology, so there is sort of a close-ended-ness to the story [of Danny and Amy]. But, if given the opportunity, of course, I’d love to explore them further, because Danny and Amy, I love those characters. But yeah, by design, though, this a close-ended narrative.”

When Will Beef Season 2 Premiere?

If the show is renewed in a few weeks, we can predict that the potential release date to be around 2024, because early renewal results in production starting on a timely schedule, resulting in a similar year gap between instalments.

However, it appears unlikely that the show will make a return on Netflix in 2023. The network may order a second 10-episode season of the show if it gets renewed. These episodes typically have a length of 30 to 39 minutes.

What Will Beef Season 2 Be About?

Amy and Danny, who had been at odds for virtually the entire first season, finally made up in the season’s finale. It only took them a day and a half stuck in the LA hills and some poison berries for them to begin to address their individual personal scars. Their seemingly impenetrable walls gradually broke down as they drifted in and out of consciousness, allowing them to speak openly about their concerns and anxieties for the first time in their lives.

If season 2 is approved, we anticipate Beef to survive and that their incredibly messed-up relationship will move into a new, more optimistic phase. They are beginning to form a close bond and now have a critical understanding of one another.

Beef Season 1 is streaming on Netflix.
