Ahead of her red carpet appearance at Cannes, Aishwarya Rai was spotted at a L’Oreal event alongside film critic Anupama Chopra.

The actress has been representing the cosmetic giant for years and for her first appearance, she donned a Valentino cape gown.

The shimmering green outfit feature cape sleeves and sparkly detailing.

Aishwarya kept things subtle by straightening her hair and soft makeup, which included a light lip colour and sleek eyeliner.

Aishwarya completed her look with transparent platform heels.

Meanwhile, Anupama opted for a pink dress with white lines.

She decided on a more casual approach, wearing white trainers as she posed with the Bollywood icon.

Fans loved the picture and made them excited about what she will wear on the red carpet.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a regular attendee of the festival and always makes a style statement.

In 2022, she turned heads in a black Dolce and Gabbana ballgown that was embellished with 3D flower work in bright colours of pink, crimson, white and yellow.

At the 2023 edition of the festival, fans are eagerly awaiting Aishwarya’s look.

But beforehand, she received attention when French paparazzi mistook Urvashi Rautela for the star.

In a viral clip, Urvashi was dressed in a bright orange ruffled gown as she attended the premiere of the movie Kaibutsu on day 2 of the film festival.

Among the paparazzi, one person shouted: “Aishwarya.”

Urvashi turned around, grinned and blew kisses to the crowd.

Some fans were disappointed with the French media’s blunder.

One said: “There’s no way she looks like Aishwarya. The paparazzi need to do some homework. Not all Indians at Cannes are Aishwarya! What’s wrong with her (Urvashi’s) hairstyle though.”

Others called out Urvashi for seemingly mimicking Aishwarya on the red carpet.

One wrote: “She is following in the footsteps of Aishwarya so much that they are calling her Aishwarya.”

Another commented: “Hands on waist, blowing kisses to media, heart hands. She (Urvashi) seems to be following Aishwarya religiously.”

A third said: “All kinds of cringe on so many levels.”

The 2023 Cannes Film Festival has seen several Indian stars make their debuts.
