Athiya Shetty’s family dismiss reports of receiving ‘Expensive Gifts’
Various reports claiming that the newly wedded couple, KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty, received expensive gifts from cricketers and celebrities are false.
A source close to the Shetty family shared that no such items had been presented to the newlywedded couple.
The couple got married in a private ceremony in Khandala on January 23, 2023.
According to reports, MS Dhoni gave KL Rahul a Kawasaki Ninja bike worth Rs 80 lakh, while Virat Kohli and his wife, Anushka Sharma reportedly gave the couple a BMW which cost Rs 2.7 crore.
Reports also claimed that Suniel and Mana Shetty gifted a lavish apartment worth Rs 50 crore to Athiya and KL Rahul, and Salman Khan gifted an Audi car to the love birds.
A source closely placed with the Shetty families clarified that the previous media reports were untrue.
They said: “All the reports published are absolutely baseless and not true we request the press fraternity to confirm details with us before publishing such incorrect information in the public domain.”
Athiya, daughter of Suniel Shetty and Mana Shetty, had been dating KL Rahul for a few years.
The couple who had been dating for a few years, drop pictures together on their Instagram handles. Recently, Athiya shared pictures of them enjoying New Year celebrations together.
The wedding took place in a private ceremony at Athiya’s father’s farmhouse in Khandala.
Later, she and KL Rahul made their first official appearance as a married couple in front of the waiting paparazzi outside the farmhouse.
For the wedding, Athiya wore a neutral-toned lehenga by Anamika Khanna with polki-embellished jewellery.
Meanwhile, KL Rahul wore an off-white sherwani for the ceremony.
After the wedding, the couple put out a joint Instagram post that stated: “In your light, I learn how to love…
“Today, with our most loved ones, we got married in the home that’s given us immense joy and serenity.
“With a heart full of gratitude and love, we seek your blessings on this journey of togetherness.”
Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Kajol, Kartik Aaryan, Madhuri Dixit and many others wished the couple on the post.
Meanwhile, Suniel Shetty confirmed that Athiya and Rahul’s reception will be held after IPL is finished.
Athiya made her acting debut in Hero opposite actor Sooraj Pancholi in 2015.
Her last project was the 2019 romantic film Motichoor Chaknachor with Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
