Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 7 teases more trouble for the Duttons.
The next episode of Yellowstone will serve as a mid-season finale. The new season of the ranch drama has a total of 14 episodes. Six episodes have aired so far the seventh episode will air on Paramount on coming Sunday. The show will return in 2023 (probably in Spring) for the next set of seven episodes. Since the next episode is a mid-season finale, we are expecting some fireworks and key moments.
Yellowstone Season 5, Episode 7 preview has arrived and we can sense big trouble coming in for the Duttons. Before discussing the next episode, let’s have a look at the recap of the sixth episode.
In Season 5, Episode 6, “Cigarettes, Whiskey, A Meadow And You,” John Dutton and the rest of his crew enjoy perfect two days of riding, bonding, celebrating, and branding cattle. John bid a surprising adieu to his old friend Emmett Walsh, who died in his sleep underneath a tree during their journey. “Well I couldn’t have dreamed of a better death if you’d paid me,” John said before returning back to the ranch to break the news to Emmett’s wife.
Beth and Rip spend some quality time together in nature while Jamie and Sarah enjoy in the bedroom. Jamie questions Sarah about her motives for continuing to sleep with him. She claims she has no ugly motives, aside from helping him get the governor’s seat and getting the airport project back.
Summer and Monica get to know each other better at the ranch while wandering through the private graveyard. We also get to sense a potential John/Summer/Lynelle love triangle at the branding ceremony.
A lot happened in episode 6 and the next episode promises a lot more drama and tension for the Duttons. Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 7 premieres on Dec 18, 2022, and with a preview out there, let’s have a look at what to expect.
Yellowstone Season 5 Episode 7 Spoilers
The Season 5, Episode 7 preview opens with John on horseback and a Costner voiceover saying, “This is my favorite part…from everything we do. This is my favorite.”
Next, we see Rip and Kayce on horseback. Kayce is seen riding up to John, Rip, and two others, and he says, “I found something you might want to see.”
In the next scene, John is seen riding on the ranch, followed by him and Beth having a drink inside. “Your business plan — that’s gonna be the end of us, dad,” Beth tells him.
Jamie is all suited up in his office. He’s sitting across from Sarah and another person, and we hear Sarah’s voice: “The future of the cattle industry is no future. Your state will be on the hook for around four billion dollars.”
The preview has some fast-paced cuts showing Lynelle at her desk talking to Rainwater and looking stressed, John on the ranch talking to a blonde woman, Rip chatting with Lloyd, and a man (who appears to be Rip) walking away from Kayce.
In another voiceover, Olivieri says: “Sounds like an impeachable offense to me.” In the next scene, we see Jamie hitting his hands down in frustration.
The promo ends with a shot of Sarah and Jamie gazing at each other. Probably in response to her earlier statement about something sounding like an impeachable offense, Jamie simply says, “Yes it does.”

What are our inferences from the promo?
It is hard to infer anything as the promo was a mix of short clips. However, we still try to infer a few things based on the voiceovers.
What did Kayce find? The last two episodes have some clear indications that Kayce is falling back in love with a cowboy lifestyle once again. After Monica urged him not to quit — because the job isn’t what cost them their son. She suggested Kayce participate in the cattle branding. Kayce and Tate rode off with John and the rest of the ranch workers. In the deeper meaning, Kayce reconsiders his role in the family and his involvement with the ranch.
Beth warns John: Beth has been warning John constantly since he freed Summer from prison. She delivers yet another weird warning to his father that his business plan will be the end of them. Is this the start of something really bad for the Dutton family? Well, we will find it in the next episode.
Sarah and Jamie: Sarah claims she has no ugly motives, aside from helping him get the governor’s seat and getting the airport project back. Their equation is going to the biggest plot points going forward. It would be interesting to see what these “impeachable offenses” are, they talk about in the promo.
Here are a few inferences from fans:
Jamie will be sitting on the iron throne in the end. If we learned anything from GOT the bastards always have the last say.
I think Jamie has a plan and he may be using Sarah remember Jamie is a survivor he is a Dutton at the end of the day go back to season 1, Jamie.
However things play out, I think Beth is going to end up killing Jamie. There’s too much hate and history there. He has no redemption left in him and keeps showing us that. She’s been waiting for the right moment and she’ll get it by the end.
