Titans and Doom Patrol, both produced by Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros, will not be returning for a fifth season. Both shows will come to an end when their respective fourth seasons wrap up later this year, Deadline reports. Helmed by Greg Berlanti, Titans and Doom Patrol were two of HBO Max’s biggest DC TV properties. The second half of the fourth season of the two shows will premiere later in 2023.
“While these will be the final seasons of Titans and Doom Patrol, we are very proud of these series and excited for fans to see their climactic endings,” an HBO Max spokesperson said in a statement to the trade.
Fans are not happy with the cancellations. They are taking to social media to share their disappointment. Some are suspecting the newly launched DC Studios is one of the causes for Titans and Doom Patrol getting dumped at the streaming service.
James Gunn, who in November became CEO of DC Studios with Peter Safran, posted on Twitter, “The decision to end the series precedes us. But I certainly wish the best for the talented group of creators, actors, and the rest of the crew that produced both shows.”

He stressed that he had nothing to do with the decisions in Titans and Doom Patrol coming to an end.
Given the ongoing changes at Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company of HBO Max, Greg Berlanti’s new contract did little to ensure the future of two of DC’s most well-liked series. Unfortunately, despite receiving positive reviews, “Titans” and “Doom Patrol” will both end after just four seasons on HBO Max.
However, there are 12 episodes in the current fourth season, each of which is divided into two parts.
Which TV Shows Are Still Left On HBO Max?
Titans and Doom Patrol are currently on hiatus, with the second half of their respective seasons 4 set to premiere later in 2023. HBO Max has yet to reveal the premiere dates for either of the two shows.
HBO Max has cut Titans and Doom Patrol, implying that the streaming service’s DC TV lineup will also be reduced. While Harley Quinn season 4 is scheduled to debut sometime in 2023, Peacemaker season 2 is still in production.
The Harley Quinn: A Very Problematic Valentine’s Day Special from the animated series will air on HBO Max in February. In the Batman universe, a spinoff series starring Colin Farrell called The Penguin is also in the works.
