Shaheen Afridi hits out at Wedding Picture Leaks

Shaheen Afridi angrily hit out at those who leaked pictures from his wedding before the couple officially shared them on social media.

The Pakistani fast bowler tied the knot with Shahid Afridi’s daughter in a private ceremony.

Shaheen shared pictures of the ceremony on social media.

He wrote: “Alhamdulillah, Almighty has been very kind and generous.

“May we always remain as a garment to each other.

“Thank you everyone for the well wishes and making our special day even better. Remember us in your special prayers.”

It was reported that there was a no-phone policy at the wedding, however, it is believed some guests did not adhere to it and posted pictures of the wedding.

This annoyed Shaheen and he addressed the matter in a subsequent tweet.

“It’s very disappointing that despite many and repeated requests, our privacy was hurt and people kept on sharing it further without any guilt.

“I would like to humbly request everyone again to kindly coordinate with us and not try to spoil our memorable big day.”

Shaheen married Ansha Afridi almost two years after it was confirmed that they would be getting married.

The wedding took place in Karachi, with the likes of Shadab Khan, Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman and Sarfaraz Ahmed in attendance.

Former cricketer Shahid Afridi confirmed the wedding and said:

“Daughter is the most beautiful flower of your garden because they blossom with great blessing.

“A daughter is someone you laugh with, dream with, and love with all your heart.

“As a parent, I gave my daughter in Nikkah to Shaheen Afridi, congratulations to the two of them.”

Meanwhile, Shaheen has been working to regain full fitness ahead of PSL 8, having suffered a knee injury in 2022.

Speaking about his rehabilitation program, Shaheen said:

“There were times when I wanted to give up. I was working on only one muscle and it was not improving.

“Often during the rehabilitation sessions, I used to say to myself ‘this is enough, I cannot do this anymore.

“But then I used to watch my bowling on YouTube and see how well I had done and that motivated me and I told myself ‘to push a little more’.

“It is frustrating for a fast bowler to miss cricket because of an injury.”
