Shah Rukh Khan stopped by Mumbai Customs Officials

On November 11, 2022, Shah Rukh Khan attended the Sharjah International Book Fair in the United Arab Emirates.

However, the actor ran into issues on his way back home with Mumbai customs officials for carrying valuable items.

According to sources, SRK was stopped by airport security because he was carrying pricey watches valued at Rs. 18 Lakh (£18,800).

Shah Rukh was allegedly required to pay a fine worth Rs. 6.8 Lakh (£7,100) for failing to pay customs duty.

Shah Rukh had flown in on a private plane to Mumbai International Airport’s Terminal 3 after attending an event in Sharjah and was on his way home.

When Shah Rukh and those with him were exiting the terminal, the luxury watches were discovered in the luggage.

While SRK and his manager reportedly exited the airport after customs formalities were completed, other members of his entourage, including his bodyguard, reportedly weren’t allowed to leave until the next morning.

In response to sources circulating news about Shah Rukh Khan being stopped by Mumbai Airport customs, an officer said:

“Shah Rukh Khan and his team were asked to pay duty for goods they were carrying.

“There was no penalty or interception as is being reported by the media.

“Everything being said on social media with regards to this case is a factual mismatch.”

Shah Rukh Khan received the Global Icon of Cinema and Cultural Narrative Award at the Sharjah International Book Fair 2022 in recognition of his contributions to global cinema and culture.

This took place at the Expo Centre in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, at the 41st Sharjah International Book Fair.

Hundreds of admirers attended the event, and videos and images of the captivating experience have begun to surface online.

Shah Rukh thanked everyone for the honour in a video that was released by one of his fan club accounts.

The actor was spotted striking the same signature pose from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge while performing on stage.

Additionally, he can be heard mouthing the famous dialogue from Om Shanti Om:

“Itni Shiddat se maine tumhe paane ki koshish ki hai, ke har zarre ne mujhe tumse Milane ki saazish ki hai.

“Kehte hain ki agar kisi cheez ko dil se chaaho to puri kayanat usey tumse milane ki koshish mein lag jaati hai.”

For a glimpse of their favourite actor inside the ballroom of the Sharjah International Book Fair, crowds cheered enthusiastically and stood up on chairs.

Shah Rukh waved and gave kisses to the large crowd as they shouted “I love you, Shah Rukh”, filling the entire space.
