Priyanka Chopra’s homeware brand trolled for ‘Ludicrous’ Pricing

Priyanka Chopra, who recently launched her new Indian homeware line-up Sona Home is under fire for keeping the prices of the items in the collection ‘exorbitantly high’.

Many people took to Twitter to express disappointment and shock.

According to their website, their ‘Panna’ Collection has a tablecloth that is priced at around $398.

They also have a dinner set collection called ‘Sultan’. On the website, a cup and saucer set is priced around $68 and chutney pots, (a set of 6) are priced around $198.

The price list didn’t go down well with netizens. In reaction, they started a hilarious thread on Twitter.

One user wrote: “I wanna be rich to a point where I can casually buy a SONA HOME tablecloth worth 30K INR”.

Another user wrote: “Sona home is beautiful and I was down to splurge on it because I’ve been wanting new dinnerware but $60/per plate. Miss Chopra, you crazy.”

A third commented: “400 dollars for that cloth you can get from a vendor on the roadside lol.

“What’s worse is that there will be regular, middle-class folks who’ll actually go out and buy these exorbitantly priced articles just to feel elite, rendering themselves free of their money as well as their brains. Peak idiocy.”

On June 23, 2022, Priyanka took to her Instagram to share the news of Sona Home’s launch.

She shared a video on Instagram and wrote: “Launch day is here! I couldn’t be more proud to introduce you all to SONA HOME.

“It was challenging to come from India and make America my second home, but my journey led me to a place where I found a second family and friends.

“I bring a piece of India into everything I do and this is an extension of that thought.

“It’s awesome to be working alongside @maneeshkgoyal and our entire team in creating something so dear to our hearts and heritage.”

Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas recently became parents to their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas.

The couple is raising her at their home in Los Angeles.

Nick recently revealed that he felt it was important for the couple to share their surrogacy journey with others.

Speaking to People Magazine, Nick Jonas said: “I think that what we shared on social media was just kinda the feeling that we had, the gratitude obviously to have our baby home.

“But also for each and every person that was part of her journey while in the hospital.”

On the work front, Priyanka has the web series Citadel, Ending Things and It’s All Coming Back To Me in the pipeline.

The actress will also return to Bollywood and be seen in Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa alongside Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt.
