Priyanka Chopra details Dark Side of Bollywood Career

Priyanka Chopra opened up on the dark side of her Bollywood career.

The actress appeared on The Ranveer Show podcast where she discussed the challenges that came her way.

Priyanka said she believes her career was jeopardised when she first started seeing success.

He said: ”I have had people wanting to jeopardise my career, take away from my work, make sure I wasn’t cast just because I was doing well in what I was doing.”

But the actress, who has ventured into Hollywood, never let those who sought to harm her career get in the way of her success.

She claimed that she ignores anyone who tries to bring her down.

Instead, she concentrates on the one person who has faith in her.

Priyanka continued: ”But that’s not what stops me.

“I don’t sit and wait and harp on, maybe I will cry one night when an opportunity was taken away from me, but I don’t sit in the s**t.”

She continued by saying that she tries to concentrate on the happy and upbeat aspects of her life.

In order to avoid being “negative”, she stated:

“You have to shut off the noise. Focus on the one person who believes in you.

“Focus on light, a little bit of inspiration that you might see and that’s the hardest thing to do because you are bogged down by baggage and shackles of people holding you down.”

Priyanka Chopra, who wed American musician Nick Jonas, remarked that few Indians take pleasure in other people’s success:

”In India, we are not people as a people, very few of us are happy for somebody else’s success. My hypothesis is, we were colonised till 1947.

“We’ve just about, not even been 100 years, been our own country, our own people.”

In Priyanka’s opinion, the “strength in numbers” is something Indians need to realise. She elaborated:

“If we only collectively banded together and supported other successful people in our fields, we would be unstoppable in the world. We are one-fifth of the world’s population.”

On the work front, Priyanka Chopra will make her return to Bollywood in Farhan Akhtar’s Jee Le Zaraa. The film also stars Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif.

The actress also has the Amazon Prime Video series Citadel and the film Love Again in the pipeline.
