Peya Jannatul visits Daulatdia Red Light District

Peya Jannatul, a model and actress, recently visited the Daulatdia red-light areas to shoot her new film, Rang Bazar. The area was eye-opening for the actresses who travelled there for some insights.

The plot of Rang Bazar revolves around the eviction of red-light districts.

The film, directed by Rashid Palash, stars Moushumi Hamid, Nazneen Chumki, Tanzika, and Lutfur Rahman George, among many others.

On exploring the area in Bangladesh, which is the country’s largest brothel, Peya said:

“I came to act in this film, but was introduced to a new world. This is the first time I have gone to Daulatdia’s red-light area for the shooting of the film.

“Until now, I heard many things about this place, but never actually had the opportunity to observe the people here (Daulatia) closely.

“This experience can’t be expressed in words.

“What you hear about this place from outside and the reality inside. both are substantially different from each other.”

There has been no further update about this film.

Peya Jannatul caught the limelight after becoming the winner of Miss Bangladesh 2007.

In 2013, she won the crown of Miss Indian Princess International after defeating contestants from 19 countries.

It was a huge achievement for her. Peya was also featured on the cover page of Vogue India.

Moreover, she was amongst the top 10 in the Model of the World competition held in Egypt, in 2013. She also won the World Miss University 2011 which was hosted in South Korea.

The multi-talented actress made her silver screen debut with Chorabali in 2012. Later on, she acted in films like Gangster Returns and Chit Mohol, opposite Apurba.

She has also been a part of several theatrical acts which include To Be Or Not To Be and Projapitir Shukh Dukkho.

The model, anchor and actress, who is also a lawyer by profession, has become an enlisted advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.

Sharing the news on her social media handle, the actor wrote:

“I’m immensely proud to say that I have become Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.

“I had to work hard to add this title to my legal profession. Extremely satisfied with the life and the people and my pets that I am surrounded by.”
