Pakistani Woman sleeps with Husband’s Dismembered Body

A Pakistani woman was taken into custody by Karachi police on December 9, 2021, after her husband’s dismembered body was found in an apartment.

Police arrived at an apartment on Abdullah Haroon Road in Saddar, Karachi after they received a call from a citizen who had discovered a human hand and other body parts outside the residence.

The police traced the body parts to the apartment, where they found a woman with blood-stained clothes sleeping next to severed body parts.

According to Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Zubair Nazir Sheikh, the 40-year-old woman “slept comfortably”.

The SSP added: “The woman had thrown pieces of her husband’s body in different rooms.

“We also recovered several tools from the possession of the woman.

“His head and hands were lying separate from the body in a nearby box therefore all evidence points towards her.”

The victim was identified as Sheikh Muhammad Sohail.

Police said the woman used a knife, hammer and other weapons to commit the murder.

Other body parts were discovered scattered around the apartment, after which the Pakistani woman, identified as Rubab, was taken into custody.

In her initial statement, given in an intoxicated state, the woman stated that her husband was addicted to methamphetamine.

The Pakistani woman also accused her 60-year-old husband of torturing her and blamed him for getting her addicted to the drug as well.

When questioned by the police, the woman stated the deceased was her husband.

She then claimed that the victim was her brother-in-law.

However, witnesses and neighbours told the police that the victim and suspect were in a live-in relationship.

Rubab then insisted that she was his wife.

A man who is believed to be the victim’s son came forward and told police that the two were married and had been living together for the last six years.

Preedy Police Station House Officer (SHO) Sajjad Khan revealed the couple’s relationship was tense.

The SHO said: “According to neighbours, the two usually quarrelled with each other over domestic issues.”

Police also revealed that the same woman turned to the authorities a year-and-a-half ago and told them that her husband was not paying for her expenses.

Karachi police collected evidence from the crime scene on December 10, 2021, and sent the body for autopsy to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.
