Mika Singh expresses Fear over Punjabi Singers getting Threats

Mika Singh shared his worries about gangsters targeting Punjabi singers.

The singer made the comments following the death of Sidhu Moose Wala, who was killed in a shooting.

Since Sidhu’s death, Mika has increased his security team.

He said: “Everyone in the industry is just shocked to say anything about the tragic incident.

“But I have to tell you that it is not Sidhu who was getting threats, but a lot of Punjabi singers, including Gippy Grewal and Mankirt Aulakh, have also got threats.

“And the incident should be a wake-up call for everyone.”

Speaking about the threats, Mika continued:

“They demand money and the ones who give money are fine but those who don’t, they send warnings of a similar fate.

“Singers in Punjab often get such threats from gangsters.

“A lot of people are upset. As soon as you get hit, or the shows start running, the threats start coming.”

“Earlier we used to hear about the underworld in Mumbai, now that underworld has started in Punjab, which is a very wrong message.

“Celebrities will stop coming to Punjab for shooting or shows.”

Mika Singh is currently in Jodhpur filming a reality show.

He says he regrets not asking Sidhu Moose Wala to move to Mumbai.

“He came to meet me in Mumbai and was happy that he travelled alone from the airport to my home.

“I gave him an award four-five years back, and I met him in London.

“He even asked me how I deal with such threats… Now, I feel bad that I didn’t ask him to shift to Mumbai.”

Mika believes celebrities have become easy targets.

“And I am telling you from personal experiences, dealing with threats is very difficult.

“Now anyone who goes to Punjab will think about this incident.

“We all loved Sidhu, and I am not blaming the government. But the message is about the gangster or singer, but the question – are we safe in Punjab?”

Stating that gang crime has become more common, Mika Singh said:

“Everything was fine before and everything was smooth. Now, it is not.”

“The gangster nexus is running in Punjab, Rajasthan, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. And stars are easy targets. In fact. artists do give them the money.

“For instance, recently, Gippy’s film became a huge hit, and only after he was threatened did his security tighten.

“But we need to get hold of these people.

“Everyone is scared, some are not even posting because of fear. Now, many will give them what they want, and not file a complaint against them.

“We need to speak up about it and find a solution to it, instead of getting into a blame game.”
