IIFA partners with Bollyverse for Metaverse Debut

The 22nd edition of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) weekend and awards will be held on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi on June 3-4, 2022.

Following the pandemic over the past two years, IIFA will be bigger than ever.

Fans are super eager to witness the most glamorous awards show where the stars converge and the glitterati shimmers.

But for those who cannot attend the event in-person, they will be able to do so virtually.

This is because IIFA has partnered with Bollyverse to make their debut in the Metaverse, meaning fans will be able to experience the event from the comfort of their own home.

It is extending its brand as the rise of the digital space continues to grow.

Bollyverse is an entity on the Metaverse where Bollywood is celebrated digitally.

Serving groundbreaking IIFA experiences, all events will be covered on Bollyverse including Backstage, Green Carpet, Avatar Club, Talent Quest, VR Bar, After Party, Stage rehearsals and Touchdown as well as the much-awaited Awards Ceremony.

IIFA Backstage will provide a sneak peek of the efforts made to prepare all the glitz and glamour. It will feature the stars getting ready, the line-up and all the buzz behind the scenes.

The action then moves outside where the sound of fans, stars and glamour takes to the Green Carpet.

Noreen Khan, IIFA Vice President said:

“Over the past 22 years, IIFA has entertained and offered the greatest unforgettable experiences for audiences around the world.

“This year marks the 22nd Edition of IIFA Weekend and Awards in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, and IIFA is excited that as an extension of the brand we will be the first International Indian Film Award Show to go into the Metaverse.

“As always IIFA will be bringing together the very best in Bollywood talent for the Metaverse, where even more millions of fans can enjoy the experience.

“We look forward to working with Bollyverse and this new innovative realm for IIFA with the latest technology.”

Bollyverse will transport the entire experience into the Metaverse.

Fans will be able to create their digital avatar in a matter of seconds while the Xsens experience will allow them to add their dance moves to the Metaverse.

Another addition is a Showbolt, which is the world’s fastest robotic arm camera which can capture, edit and share cinematic quality videos in seconds.

Kishore Samtani, Bollyverse’s Founder said:

“We are thrilled to collaborate with IIFA to bring you the biggest celebration of Indian cinema in the world to the Metaverse.

“Our technology and management teams are on the ground in Abu Dhabi working tirelessly in readiness to capture all the IIFA experiences.”

IIFA and Bollyverse are bringing the digital world and cinema together for the first time.
