Feroze Khan faces Criticism for joining TikTok

“I guess TikTok is cancer-free now.”

Feroze Khan is the latest celebrity to join the popular video-sharing app TikTok.

His decision to join the platform was a surprise to many since he openly called the app “cancer” in 2021 in the wake of two ‘controversial’ videos.

On January 31, 2022, the 31-year-old actor shared a montage of videos distributing food to the needy on the app.

For a video promoting a good deed, it began with a shot of Feroze writing the agenda on a glass wall and then leaving the screen with a handful of bags containing food.

We then see him smiling as he interacts with people on the streets while handing them boxes of food and drinks.

In 2020, the Tich Button star had lashed out at the popular social media app TikTok.

The actor went on to deem TikTok as “cancer” in wake of a controversial video posted on the app that involved a girl dancing at Quaid-e-Azam mausoleum.

Netizens were not impressed with Feroze’s decision to join the app and took to the comments section to share their thoughts.

One user wrote: “I guess TikTok is cancer-free now.”

Another added: “Whose responsible for spreading this disease? Feroze Khan!”

A third commented: “This guy is the biggest hypocrite of our industry.”

In other news, Feroze Khan is also facing backlash for his role in the television drama Aye-Musht-e-Khaak.

The drama serial had previously raised eyebrows for its over-the-top script however, fans of the show are currently expressing their disgust with the latest episode.

The episode seemingly glorified domestic abuse as Feroze’s character straggled his wife, played by Nimra Khan.

A fan of the show said:

“This scene could have been done with a bit more sensitivity and less violence for sure!

“Why is the so-called hero indulging in abuse?

“Geo TV, you can’t promote abuse like this!”

Another said: “This scene is downright triggering and glorifies violence and the toxic male lead as a protagonist.

“Highly disturbing!”

A flock of netizens blamed the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) and questioned why it allowed the episode to air without a warning.

Some reported it and asked for it to be removed.

Feroze Khan made his debut as a television actor in the 2014 television series Chup Raho before making his Lollywood debut in 2016 alongside Sajal Aly in Zindagi Kitni Haseen Hay.
