Bollywood Stars light up IIFA Rocks 2022
IIFA Rocks 2022 proved to be a memorable night as many famous faces from the world of Bollywood picked up awards and there were some eye-catching performances.
The event precedes the actual IIFA Awards ceremony and it brings together the best of films, fashion, music and dance within Bollywood.
Actors, singers and dancers provided the entertainment with their performances.
The event returned after being absent for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
IIFA Rocks 2022 took place in the Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi and it was hosted by Farah Khan and Aparshakti Khurana.
Prior to the event, Farah said she would be as entertaining as possible without crossing any boundaries.
She said: “It’s important to tread a fine line between joking with someone and humiliating someone.
“We must draw that line. I’ve been in this industry for 30 years now. Everyone knows my sense of humour and I can go a little extra.
“But I can’t make the other person feel bad.”
Farah had also shared how she and Aparshakti will be playing ‘good cop’ and ‘bad cop’ during the event.
Farah quipped that she will say everything that Aparshakti wants to say as she is a senior in the film industry, and nobody will mind her jokes.
IIFA Rocks 2022 saw some electrifying performances by the likes of Guru Randhawa, Honey Singh, Neha Kakkar, Devi Sri Prasad and Ash King among others.
Renowned designers Falguni and Shane Peacock presented their designs in a NEXA fashion show.
Meanwhile, the stars walked the iconic green carpet and made a statement with their outfits.
Tiger Shroff opted for a light pink double-breasted suit paired with matching sunglasses.
Riteish Deshmukh and his wife Genelia also attended the event.
While Riteish sported a white ensemble, Genelia wore a dramatic white dress.
Ananya Panday looked stunning in a light blue dress that featured floral details and had a thigh-high slit.
She styled her hair in a bun and wore white strappy heels.
Stars such as Shahid Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan and Bobby Deol among others also graced the green carpet with their presence.
IIFA Rocks 2022 proved to be a special night for Vicky Kaushal’s Sardar Udham Singh as it won three awards in Cinematography, Editing and Special Effects.
Atrangi Re won two awards, one for Choreography of ‘Chaka Chak’ and for Background Score.
Sheershaah and Thappad each bagged one award while Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior won ‘Best Sound Design’ and 83 bagged an award for Sound Mixing.
The event precedes the IIFA Awards, which will take place on June 4, 2022.
It will be hosted by Salman Khan, Riteish Deshmukh and Maniesh Paul.
It will also feature performances from stars like Nora Fatehi, Sara Ali Khan, Ananya Panday, Divya Khosla Kumar, Kartik Aaryan, Tiger Shroff and Shahid Kapoor.
