Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 3: New Season to Release in 2023
In a surprising turn of events, MAPPA announced today that Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 is in production. The announcement came at the end of today’s NHK broadcast of the final episode of Season 4 Part 2 that aired at 12.05 am on April 4, JST. Attack On Titan Episode 77 was deemed to be the final episode of the series but the studio has extended the final season for another part.
Ever since MAPPA announced that Episode 87, titled The Dawn of Humanity, would be the last episode of Part 2, fans have been worried that the series would end without a proper climax and more than 8 chapters will be left unadapted.
While most fans were expecting the studio to finish the story with a movie, MAPPA had some other ideas. MAPPA managed to keep the news under wraps and just when the fans were least expecting, the studio announced the final part.

The third part of the final season was announced after the broadcast of the final episode of Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2 on Japanese TV.

Along with the announcement, a short teaser of the final season’s Part 3 was also unveiled which saw all the main characters standing firm. It is confirmed that Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 is in production, which will start airing sometime in 2023. It should be noted that part 3 of the final season is titled ‘Attack on Titan The Final Arc‘.

Attack on Titan Season 4: A Timeline
Attack on Titan Season 1 Part 1 concluded airing on March 29, 2021. The last season returned for its second part in January 2022. Episode 12 of the final season aired on Apr 4, 2022. Now, the extended part, or say part 3 of the final season will release in 2023. This will be the closure of the anime series that started airing in 2013.
