Allu Arjun body-shamed over apparent Weight Gain
Telugu actor Allu Arjun was subjected to body shaming after he was spotted looking stockier than usual.
The star came off the success of his 2021 film Pushpa: The Rise and the sequel is set to release in 2023.
It is reported that Allu is currently preparing to film the movie and was spotted by the paparazzi.
Allu wore a printed T-shirt and black cargo trousers.
While it appeared as though he was in character for the Pushpa sequel, some social media users pointed out Allu’s apparent weight gain.
As a result, they took the opportunity the body shame the actor.
One person said: “Day by day going buddha.”
Another commented: “Mota bhai.”
One user called the actor “vada pav” and added a laughing emoji.
Allu Arjun was also sporting longer hair and a bushy beard and haters were quick to mock this aspect of his appearance.
Saying he looked like a beggar, one person wrote:
“He looks like sadak chaap thief. Southies are crazy for this beggar.”
Others claimed he looked like Sri Lankan bowler Lasith Malinga.
However, some believed his look was in preparation for Pushpa 2: The Rule.
On the work front, Allu Arjun expressed his appreciation for the support he has received from Hindi audiences following the release of Pushpa.
Talking about the love he received from the Hindi audience, Allu said:
“It’s my first Hindi theatrical release. It’s definitely far beyond my expectations.”
“When we released the movie, we didn’t have many expectations. It is more like testing the waters.
“I’m so glad that we got it right in the first shot. It’s been amazing that we got our first shot right.”
On Pushpa 2, there were rumours that Rashmika Mandanna’s character Srivalli would be killed off, forcing producer Y Ravi Shankar to clarify the speculation.
Saying “that’s all trash”, he said:
“This is all nonsense. Until now we didn’t hear the story to be fair and frank, so it’s not like that, and all these are speculations.
“At this point in time, no one knows anything about that, so they believe in it.
“This is being carried by other websites and TV channels also, but it’s false news.”
