‘All American: Homecoming Season 3’ on The CW: Will there be a third season to All American spin-off? Here’s everything you need to know!
The second season of All American: Homecoming comes to an end on March 27, 2023, with no confirmation about whether it will come back for Season 3. All American: Homecoming is a spin-off to The CW’s popular sports drama series All American. The show debuted on The CW in Feb 2022 and even before the first season completed airing, it was renewed for the second season. However, this time around the situation is different. The future of the All American spinoff (as well as most of The CW’s other scripted shows) is uncertain.
‘All American: Homecoming Season 3’: Is it happening?
The CW was once the home of a full slate of scripted TV shows, many of them part of the Arrowverse. By 2023, The Flash is the last Arrowverse show and is set to end its run with the ninth season. Riverdale and Nancy Drew are also scheduled to wrap their runs on the network.
Early reports suggest that only three of the remaining shows will be renewed due to Nexstar Media Group acquiring majority ownership of The CW.
Now, coming to the renewals, One of these three shows is All American which was renewed for its sixth season in January 2023. However, there is no update on whether the All American spin-off will get a renewal.
For the remaining two slots, seven scripted originals are competing including Walker, Walker: Independence (Highly unlikely), Superman & Lois, Kung Fu, The Winchesters, Gotham Knights, and of course All American: Homecoming.
With All American already renewed, there are good chances that The CW renews its spin-off probably for another season. That said, it doesn’t get quite as much of a promotional push compared to other The CW shows. Moreover, its ratings and viewership just don’t match those of its parent series.
Expecting these two shows to get a renewal
With just two slots left to be filled, my best guess is that Superman & Lois will be one of the renewed shows. My top three guesses for the second slot would be The Winchesters (because it has just started and has a connection to Supernatural) Walker: Independence (good ratings), and All American: Homecoming (spin-off to All American which has already been renewed).
When is All American: Homecoming season 2 coming to Netflix?
All American: Homecoming season 2 wraps up airing on The CW on March 27, 2023. There are a total of 15 episodes in the second season. We often have to wait eight days for The CW’s series to appear on Netflix US after their televised season finales, but Homecoming will take a little longer.
The second season of All American: Homecoming will be available on Netflix on Tuesday, April 11, 2023. That’s two weeks rather than the usual one week after the season finale airs on The CW. However, the wait will be worthwhile.
